IOL, brand name for Media Capital Editora Multimédia, was launched in 1999 as the portal of Media Capital Group, merging its main contents. In 2000 the Internet access service and a wide range of own contents aggregated in a portal under the IOL brand name was launched, including a generalist information site – Portugal Diário; a sport information site – Mais Futebol; a financial information site – Agência Financeira, among many others.
